How to Perform a Break Up Spell

Firstly, let me just say there are so many various recipes and methods for break up and separation magic. So this is just my own personal way of doing this spell.

I will add here when I’m doing this type of magic I don’t do it just once. I repeat it….maybe every week, and so after I share with you the spell I I’m going to share with you how to make what I say is the best separation or break up oil you can create for yourself. It’s the same oil recipe we use in the Black Witch Coven store. 

Break-Up Candle Ritual with Separation Oil

Hoodoo-Style Cord-Cutting for Relationships, Habits, or Ties

This is a safe, traditional 3-day ritual using Separation Oil to end a connection cleanly—whether romantic, toxic friendship, business partner, or bad habit.
It’s not for harm, but for liberation and closure.

Supplies (All Easy to Get)

• 2 figural candles (one for each person/thing) – black or white-Represent the two parties
• Separation Oil-Cuts the bond
• Black marker-Names & intent
• Scissors or athame-Symbolic cutting
• Aluminum foil or 2 small plates-Keeps candles apart
• Pinch of black pepper + lemon peel-Sours & repels
• Fire-safe dishFor burning paper
• Matches

3-Day Ritual (Do at Dusk, Waning Moon)

DAY 1 – Name & Anoint

1. Write your name on one candle (base to wick).
2. Write their name/habit on the other (wick to base — opposite direction).
3. Dress both candles with Separation Oil — away from each other:
    • Your candle: bottom → top (pulling you free)
    • Their candle: top → bottom (pushing them away)
4. Sprinkle black pepper + lemon peel between them.
5. Place on separate foil/plates, 6+ inches apart.
6. Light both. Say:

“What was joined is now cut. Paths divide. So it is.”

Let burn 1 inch, then snuff (don’t blow). |

 DAY 2 – Pull Apart 

1. Move candles 1 foot farther apart.
2. Re-anoint away from center.
3. Light. Say:
   “Distance grows. Ties weaken. So it is.”

Burn another 1 inch, snuff. 

DAY 3 – Final Severance

1. Move candles as far as possible (opposite ends of room)
2.  Cut a string between them with scissors:
   “Cord is cut. Bond is broken. We are free.”
3. Light both. Let burn completely.

Do NOT watch — leave the room. 

Disposal (Critical!)

• Your candle wax: Bury at a crossroads or flush down toilet (you’re moving on).
• Their candle wax: Bury far away (park, dumpster, or trash).
• Ashes/foil: Throw in running water or trash off your property.
• Tools: Wash scissors in vinegar + salt.

Aftercare (Important)

1. Take a cleansing bath: Salt + hyssop or lemon.
2. Anoint self with Van Van Oil or Florida Water for new beginnings.
3. Avoid contact for 9 days — let the cut heal.

Pro Tip: If the candles won’t stay lit, the bond is stubborn — repeat with hot foot powder on Day 3.

Miss Melinda’s Witchcraft Break Up Spell

Admittedly, this is more of a witchcraft style spell. In the course we do teach a different style of spell which is more “HOODOO” but I dare say this spell can be performed by anybody.

Basic Witchcraft Style Spell

You will need:

• A small square of paper
• A white taper candle
• A fireproof dish
• A fountain pen filled with black ink (a black ballpoint will do, but a fountain pen is best)

Procedures:

• On the paper, write down the name of the person you don’t want in your life anymore.
• As soon as the ink gets dried, light the candle and hold the paper over the flame until it starts to burn.
• As it burns, stare intensely at the flames and imagine the fumes curling round the person and taking him away from you.
• At that point when you can no longer hold the burning paper, throw it into the fireproof dish and continue to visualize the smoke as it takes away that individual from your life.
• Take the dish outside to as high a place as possible and with the ashes clasped in your right hand.

Recite these:

Wind of North, Wind of East,

Wind of South, Wind of West,

Take these feelings to where they best

Be appreciated.

Please let ***** see,

That his/her love is not for me.

And let it be done, that it harm no one.

After making those recitations, unclasp your hand and watch the ashes blow away with the breeze. Visualize your target leaving your life.

A Spell to Mend a Broken Heart

Were you abandoned by your lover?  Do you feel so heartbroken and would like to mend your broken heart?  If yes, perform this spell on a Friday, the sacred day to Venus.

Items needed :

Note: Items should be consecrated before use.

• A teabag of strawberry tea
• A willow wand
• Sea salt
• Two pink candles
• A mirror
• A pink drawstring bag
• A crystal of quartz
• A copper coin
• A crystal bowl that has some sentimental value to you
• One teaspoon of orris root powder
• One teaspoon of dried jasmine
• One teaspoon of yarrow
• A small handful of strawberry leaves
• Ten drops of apple blossom essential oil
• Ten drops of strawberry essential oil

Procedure :

• Fill your bathtub with warm water and place one of the pink candles at the end.
• Prepare a cup of strawberry tea with the running water.
• Light the candle and immerse yourself in the warm water until you feel relaxed enough to cast the spell.
• After spending few minutes in the water, get off and allow your body to dry.
• Sip the strawberry tea and dab strawberry oil around your face.
• Go to your altar and cast a circle with the willow wand.
• Light the second pink candle and add other ingredients to the bowl.
• Stir the contents thoroughly and say:

Mother Earth I ask you for nurture and protection.

Give me the confidence to use the strengths I have.

And let it be done, that it harm no one.

After mixing thoroughly, look at your reflection in the mirror and say:

Mother Earth, help me to be the person I know I am,

And let me overcome my difficulty.

And let it be done, that it harm no one.

Add half of the mixture into the drawstring bag along with the coin and the crystal and close the magic making in the usual way. Keep the bowl containing the other half in a place where the its fragrance can spread to you easily.

Carry the bag at all times and you can place it under your pillow while sleeping. Do this until your heart has been completely healed.
